ROS JOINS USA EXPERIMENTAL SS TESTS

FCC Issues Special Transmission Authority ‘STA’ to USA experimental group for the purpose of integrating Spread Spectrum modes within the USA.

The ROS data mode project has pioneered advances in the application of data processing techniques, being made available to the amateur world, via the family of ROS data and Beacon modes , from VLF to VHF EME and is now proud to be selected by the USA experimental test group as one of the nominated data modes to be evaluated as part of there trial’s.

Phil KA1GMN has been issued the first license WF9XJD which will be activated 24:00 z 1 February,

Anyone wishing to apply for a STA or be one of the nominated receiving stations , should contact Phil directly at ka1gmn@gmail.com for details of the application and experiments. Reports and QSO’s are of course, most welcome from all.

The ROS project wishes the group every success with the forthcoming trials and will seek to support them in any way beneficial to there successful resolution. We also appreciatively recognise the work of Antonio Porcino, whose Chip64 mode is also selected to assist in the evaluation.

Auto VFO Compensation

Old rigs, like Keenwood TS-950, have a great VFO offset, in some cases 800Hz even on 10 meters.

The solution is to repair or to compensate by software.

This option estimates the VFO offset and active a mechanism of compensation.

YX6AJ Expedition

The Radio Club Venezolano Team YX6AJ, will do an expedition to famous Salto Angel (Venezuela).

The expedition is from 3 to 6 January 2012 and YV5FRD will be active in ROS Mode.

There is several ways to go to expeditions, but the YX6AJ Team use a Combat Helicopter

Y por fin nos llega la tercera y última parte de la saga “El modo ROS, ¿ya lo has probado?” en la Revista CQ Radio Amateur.

De nuevo un trabajo de divulgación excelente de Luis del Molino EA3OG. Además de la guía, se habla con total libertad de lo que acontece y de lo que aconteció. No tiene desperdicio.

This option avoid to move the dial accidentally. Available recently in v6.9.0.

Macro EXPORTQSO

The macro is similar to press the EXPORT QSO button in the ADIF window.

QSO Forwarding in Remote Operation

In Remote Operation, QSOs are saved and exported from the Remote Station, when we have the database.

This appear only when Remote and Base station are used by the same callsign.
