Guess the last post didn’t work. I was under the impression that you had to have a computer to run vara fm digipeater. I was thinking more along the lines like the packet tnc’s where you can run them without a computer. A computer won’t work for us at 9000 feet in the winter.

sorry it took so long to get back to you. I guess I was under the impression you needed a computer to run the vara system as a digi. I was thinking a stand alone like the packet tnc.

    Hello Steve,

The VARA FM digipeater is stand alone.

We have a repeater site at 9000 feet and it is not feasible to put the current vara type digipeater up there. It is too hard to get to in the winter. Is there a thought to building a stand alone vara fm digipeater ? Thank you for you time.
